We offer a number of visit options for you and your family. Read about our programs and register when you're ready to schedule your visit.
UIC Open House - register
All students are invited to UIC's most comprehensive visit of the the year. This drop-in event includes tours of campus, speakers, sample classes, workshops, faculty and student demonstrations, and the UIC Expo, representing hundreds of departments on campus.
Preview Days - register
Preview Days are an expanded opportunity to visit campus and hear from financial aid, housing, and the undergraduate colleges. This is a half day program and includes campus and residence hall tours.
UIC 101 - Admissions Presentation and Tour of Campus - register
Offered most weekdays and Saturdays at 10am, our first year information program is approximately 2 hours in length.
Each program begins with a presentation by the Admissions Office and then guests have the opportunity to interact with current University students during a student panel, take a student-led walking tour of campus, and visit a University Residence Hall.
UIC 101 - Transfer Info & Tour - register
Offered select Fridays at 11:30am, these sessions are targeted towards prospective transfer students.
Each program is approximately 2 hours in length and begins with an admissions presentation providing an overview of campus, admissions information, and insight into the transfer process, followed by a student-led tour of campus and a university residence hall.
Housing Events - register
You'll be able to visit a sample room during all UIC 101 programs - but check the calendar for a more in depth exploration of housing, including open house programs, individualized tours, and a limited number of overnight experiences.
Appointments are arranged primarily for transfer and international students who have questions regarding the application process for their specific programs at the university. Please call (312) 996-4350 to schedule an appointment, or talk to an admissions counselor on the phone. Appointment can be scheduled in person, or for out of state and international students, via Skype.
Admitted Student Tours - register
Admitted students are invited to visit campus during select days throughout the spring semester. During these visits, an admissions counselor will provide a brief overview of the university and review the steps required to make UIC your home for the fall semester. Campus and housing tours will also be available. Please note, this program differs from the required
New Student Orientation.

Sometimes our available sessions do not meet the needs of your schedule. If this is the case, we have some resources available for you to tour the campus on your own!
Arranging Departmental Visits
Some departments and colleges at UIC offer their own sessions that can be attended as a standalone appointment, or often times works well in concert with a UIC 101 session. The following is a list of contacts for the undergraduate colleges that offer program specific visits.
- College of Applied Health Sciences – Nutrition Science program

- College of Architecture, Design, & the Arts
CADA offers college specific information sessions after UIC 101 on the third Thursday of each month at 1pm at the Architecture & Design Studios. Register for the appropriate UIC 101 session. Individual and group visits can also be coordinated directly with Natalie Leoni, the recruitment coordinator for CADA. Please e-mail with at least a 48 hours advance notice to email@example.com and indicate whether the area of interest is Architecture, Art, Art History, Design, Music or Theatre.
- College of Business Administration
The College of Business Administration Undergraduate Student Services Office can be reached at (312) 996-2700 Monday- Thursday between the hours of 8:30am-4:45pm, and Friday's 8:30am-4:30pm We recommend scheduling a visit before or after an information session and tour with the office of admissions. We also offer several informational webinars during the academic year. The dates for those sessions are listed in UIC Business News.
- College of Engineering
The College of Engineering's Undergraduate Student Affairs Office can be reached at (312) 996-3463 weekdays between the hours of 9am-4:30pm. We recommend scheduling the visit before or after an information session and tour with the office of admissions. Visits to specific departments in the College can be made by contacting one of the contacts listed on the College of Engineering Department Visits page.
- College of Liberal Arts & Sciences (LAS)
The College of Liberal Arts & Sciences offers an information session to highlight distinctive undergraduate opportunities on Fridays at 1pm after campus visits. Please register to attend through the UIC Events form. Individual and group visits can also be coordinated directly with Justin Wier, the Coordinator of Outreach & Enrollment. - College of Nursing
Nursing offers information sessions on select dates throughout the year. Additionally, nursing provides over the phone counseling at 312-996-7800.
- School of Public Health
The School of Public Health offers regular information sessions regarding their Bachelor’s program in Public Health. - College of Urban Planning and Public Affairs
College of Urban Planning and Public Affairs (CUPPA) offers information sessions for the Department of Public Administration (BA Public Policy) and the Department of Urban Planning and Policy (BA Urban Studies) every Monday and Friday from 1 to 2 p.m. Please email the department of interest in advance, firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com.
