Program Highlights

The chemical engineering program trains students to address problems facing society that include energy, water and the environment. Alumni work in traditional chemical engineering fields, such as chemical and oil companies, but the program's diversified curriculum also trains students to work in other fields like food processing, semiconductor manufacturing, pharmaceutical and drug development, mining, and more. Chemical engineers even work in non-traditional areas such as Wall Street, where they forecast future trends in stock prices and other commodities.

GPPA Information

The GPPA program allows a limited number of first-year students per year to be admitted to UIC with guaranteed admission to the Master's program in chemical engineering. Students follow a specific curriculum and meet established performance criteria to maintain guaranteed admission.
