Program Highlights
Mechanical Engineering is essential to a wide range of activities that include the design, development, manufacture, management, and control of engineering systems, subsystems and their components. Typically, mechanical engineers are employed many industries, such as manufacturing, power, aerospace, automotive, materials, and processing industries. As a result of the recent, rapid expansion of technology, mechanical engineers have also become increasingly involved in computer-aided design and visualization; robotics; bioengineering; environmental engineering; solar, wind, and ocean energy sources; and space exploration.
GPPA Information
The GPPA program allows a limited number of first-year students per year to be admitted to UIC with guaranteed admission to the Master's degree program in mechanical engineering. Students follow a specific curriculum and meet established performance criteria to maintain guaranteed admission.
