Student Services Building (Office of Admissions)

The Office of Admissions is in the Student Services Building (SSB), located at 1200 West Harrison Street.

By public transportation

The Office of Admissions  is served by several city bus and rail routes, including the Racine stop of the Blue Line rapid transit line. Downtown terminals Northwestern and Union stations are linked to the southbound No. 60 bus on Clinton Avenue. From the Rock Island and Illinois Central terminals, take the southwest bound Blue Line Forest Park  "L" train. You may also walk to campus from the train stations or take the campus shuttle bus. UIC is just west of the junction of three major expressways: the Eisenhower (I-290), Kennedy (I-90/94 Northwest), and Dan Ryan (I-90/94 Southeast). Several exits provide access to the campus: Ashland, Damen, Halsted, Harrison, Morgan, Racine, Roosevelt and Taylor. From downstate, both I-55 and I-57 feed into northwest bound I-90/94.

Student Center East (SCE)

The UIC Conference Center is in the Student Center East (SCE), located at 750 S. Halsted Street.

By car

From the North, take the Kennedy Expressway (90/94 east) to the Eisenhower Expressway (290) westbound and keep to the right; take the first exit from the Eisenhower Expressway, which is Morgan Street. Turn left (south) on Morgan Street and go one block south to Harrison Street and turn left (east). Take Harrison Street to Halsted Street and turn right (south). Take Halsted Street to the parking structure.

From the East, take Harrison Street or Roosevelt Road; if you take Roosevelt Road, go west to Halsted Street and turn right (north) to the parking structure. If you take Harrison Street, go west to Halsted Street and turn left (south) to the parking structure.

From the West, take the Eisenhower Expressway (290 east) to the Racine Avenue exit; turn right (south) on Racine and go south to Harrison Street and turn left (east). Take Harrison to Halsted Street and turn right (south). Take Halsted Street to the parking structure.

From the South, take the Dan Ryan Expressway (94) and exit at Roosevelt Road (1200 South); go left (west) on Roosevelt Road to Halsted Street; then go right (north) on Halsted Street to the parking structure.

Parking: Parking is available in the Halsted Street Parking Structure, 801 S. Halsted Street, directly across the street from Student Center East*. The cost will be between $5.00 and $12.25.

*If the Halsted Street Parking Structure is full, please go one block north to Harrison Street. Go left (west) on Harrison Street to Morgan (one block). Turn right (north) onto Morgan and into Lot 9.

By public transportation

Metra Train - From Union Station or the Ogilvie Transportation Center (formerly the Northwestern Train Station), board the No. 60 Blue Island bus at either Clinton and Adams or Clinton and Jackson streets. Exit the bus at Harrison and Halsted. Walk one block south to Student Center East.

The CTA Blue line elevated-subway serves UIC. Exit at Halsted Street and walk one block south to Student Center East. The No. 8 Halsted bus stops directly in front of Student Center East. James Stukel Towers (JST)

The main entrance to the James Stukel Towers (JST) is located at 718 W. Rochford St.

By Car

Destination: Maxwell St. Parking Structure, 1300 S. Halsted St., Chicago, IL 60607

From the North, Take I-90/94 to the Circle Interchange and take the Taylor Street Exit, making a right on Taylor. Take a right on Taylor and an immediate left on Halsted, south to Maxwell Street.

From the West, Take the 290 to the Circle Interchange merge with 90/94 East and take the Taylor Street exit, making a right on Taylor. Take an immediate left on Halsted, south to Maxwell Street.

From the East, Take Harrison Street or Roosevelt Road, go west to Halsted Street, and south to Maxwell Street.

From the South, Take the Dan Ryan Expressway (I-90/94) and exit on Roosevelt Road (1200 south); go west on Roosevelt Road to Halsted Street and south to Maxwell Street.

For parking, you can go to the Maxwell Street Parking Structure (which you can enter from Maxwell Street, off of Halsted Street).

UIC is served by the CTA trains (the "El") Blue Line train (UIC-Halsted, Racine, and Polk stops) and the Pink Line train (Polk stop), connecting the campus with downtown, O'Hare International Airport, northwest and west side neighborhoods of Chicago, and the western suburbs of Oak Park, Forest Park, and Cicero.

CTA bus lines connecting the commuter rail hubs to the campus include the 7 and 60 buses, which run from downtown
