Use the Applicant Appeals and Petition Form to:

Final decisions are rarely reversed. Appeals must include compelling and new information not available at the time of review; such as updated transcripts or medical documentation.
  • Petition for a late Intent-to-Enroll
You were offered admission but missed the Intent-to-Enroll deadline: May 1 for First-Year, June 1 for Transfers.
  • Petition for a waiver of the English proficiency test score
If you believe you qualify under UIC’s exemption policy.
  • Petition to defer your admission
Deferments are available only for military service or significant extenuating circumstances.
  • Petition for a change of major
Applies only to applicants or newly admitted students. Changes to another college after admission are not allowed after June 1. Students may pursue an Intercollege Transfer after completing one semester of graded coursework at UIC.
