Late Application Process
Undergraduate applicants who missed the deadline to apply may submit a petition to request a late application. Keep in mind that not all petitions will be accepted.
First-Year Applicants
First-Year (freshman) applicants should create a Common Application account and make sure the University of Illinois Chicago is one of the schools listed in the "My Colleges" section. Petitioners must have a Common App account with UIC in their college list in order for us to extend the deadline. Once UIC is added, you should complete and submit the petition.
Transfer Applicants
Transfer applicants can begin the UIC Application or wait until after submitting the petition.
Additional Information
Please include the following when filling out the petition:
- Your Common Application ID number (first year/freshman only)
- Your intended college at UIC (more information on academic programs)
- You are welcome to upload unofficial transcripts and test scores
- Approved petitions for late applications are not an indicator of admission, it is only approval to apply after the deadline has passed.
