Early Action and Regular Decision

The application is identical, but the process is a little different.

The big difference between the two plans is that with Early Action, you'll get a decision on Dec. 15, with regular decision, it will be rolling admission through the end of the cycle. More information is below.

Typical notification:  On December 15

Scholarship impact

Early Action candidates will have priority scholarship consideration.

Is my admission binding? (Am I expected to enroll if I’m admitted?)

No, Early Action candidates have until the Intent to Enroll deadline o decide if they would like to attend UIC.

Possible outcomes:

You can either be admitted, deferred, or not admitted from the Early Action plan. Deferred students are encouraged to submit additional application information up until the regular decision deadline.  This can include seventh-semester grades, updated test scores, or additional information.

Regular Decision

Deadline and notification

Typical deadline: February 1 (this date has now been extended to February 15th)
Typical notification:  Rolling notification, through April. 

Scholarship impact

Regular decision candidates will have priority scholarship consideration if they apply by November 1.

Is my admission binding? (Am I expected to enroll if I’m admitted?)

No, regular decision candidates have until the Intent to Enroll deadline to decide if they would like to attend UIC. 

Possible outcomes:

You can either be admitted or not admitted from Regular Decision.  Students who are not admitted can explore transfer options, or in some cases, submit an appeal.
