UIC Star Scholarship

A scholarship for high achieving City Colleges of Chicago (CCC) students

UIC's Star Scholarship is valued at up to $2,500 a year and may be renewed for a total of four consecutive, full-time, fall or spring semesters. Recipients can find the specific value of their award on their financial aid notification letters, which will be distributed in March.

Selection Criteria

Please note, funding is limited, and meeting the following criteria does not guarantee receipt of the award. The award is only valid for the term in which it is offered. Other eligibility requirements exist, including: 

Academic Criteria

  • Must complete a transfer application for admission to UIC by the transfer deadline 
  • Must be a first time Baccalaureate seeking City Colleges of Chicago (CCC) student
  • City Colleges of Chicago (CCC) students must be Chicago Star Scholarship recipients, and Transfer Admission Guarantee (TAG) through CCC.
  • City Colleges of Chicago (CCC) students must graduate from CCC with an associate degree before their first term of enrollment at UIC 
  • Must have a minimum cumulative transfer GPA of 3.0

Continuing Student Eligibly

To maintain the UIC Star Scholarship, students must:

  • Maintain a cumulative 3.0 GPA and Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) during their enrollment at UIC 
  • Maintain full-time status for at least 12 semester hours during enrollment at UIC

Other important notes

In addition to tuition, students will be assessed mandatory fees, assessments, and — for some programs — tuition differentials. See our cost calculator or the registrar's website for more details.
The award cannot be applied to tuition during the summer semester.
